Ms Charmain Tan

Founder & CEO, QuickDesk

Charmain, is the founder of QuickDesk (Previously named, Pear Comms Pte Ltd), and a regular speaker and practitioner on Digital Sales Transformation, and also winner of Forbes 30U30. She started this company back in 2014 after her first company, FIETT, which invented and commercialised ISGLOVES, winter touchscreen gloves for use with touchscreen devices.

When technology changed from capacitive touch to proximity touch, she had to pivot. She then asked herself one question, what would I have done differently as an entrepreneur. The answer then was Sales. She looked around me and realised many startups died because of the lack of sales.

‘What if we could all find ways with technology and education to drive our Sales?’ With this question, she kickstarted on her new Mission, QuickDesk, equipping, enabling, empowering, enriching businesses to be able to grow their revenue.

Her flagship product, QuickDesk, was developed because she realised that the market needed a technological tool to help drive their sales but existing tools (CRMs) are hard to use, do not motivate sales engagement, and were not built for sales in asia.

QuickDesk was launched in the market in Nov 2015 and they managed to bootstrap and acquire 900 SMEs in Singapore and Malaysia over the past 3 years.

Realising that technological tool alone is not enough to help sales people better equip themselves to drive sales, she kickstarted Enterprise Sales Forum in 2016 in Singapore bringing Sales Professionals and Business Owners in the B2B community together to share their challenges and learning lessons doing B2B sales.The group has grown from 20 members to 200 members in 2 years before she passed on the helm to another leader.

In 2018, we kickstarted our B2B prospecting arm helping Business Services Companies to reach out to other Businesses. And we consolidated our learnings from servicing these businesses to build a curriculum helping businesses to transform their sales by building and optimizing their sales processes with digital tools, and launched our training program in 2019.

Believing that Sales can be made simpler and smarter with the understanding of value based selling and optimizing sales and marketing processes with the usage of the relevant digital tools, she seek to continually empower businesses as they focus on serving the marketing based on what they are good at, and to equip budding entrepreneurs with a platform to better market their products / services to the relevant prospects.
